» EASY CONFIGURATION

After connecting the paging adapter to the existing LAN/WAN network, you can easily manage and configure the paging adapter using its own user-friendly configuration web interface accessible via the paging adapter's IP address, no need of tricky programming.

When you first log into the web GUI, after setting the IP address of the server (the PC on which SPON™ XC-9000 software was installed), you can either manually assign a static IP address to the paging adapter, or choose DHCP to obtain dynamic IP address for the paging adapter. Apart from the settings of network parameters, you can also use the web GUI to configure other parameters of the paging adapter such as FTP server, offline broadcasting volume, line input sensitivity, local broadcasting priority, web interface login username & password, firmware upgrade, etc.

» INTEGRATION WITH LEGACY ANALOG PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM

The line output (2-pin spring-cage terminal block) of the paging adapter can be directly connected to the line input of any legacy analog amplifier with input impedence between 600Ohm and 10kOhm, meaning this device is compatible with most analog amplifiers in the market. This feature makes the paging adapter a perfect choice for the system upgrade from legacy analog public address system to IP paging system while still be able to keep the analog amplifiers and passive speakers in the system.

» BUILT-IN DIGITAL AMPLIFIER

The built-in 60-watt class-D digital amplifier of the paging adapter enables the device to drive up to 60W 4Ω/8Ω low impedance passive loudspeakers subject to loudspeaker connection mode (total resistance=4Ohm). The amplifier output (2-pin pluggable terminal block) on the device is available for direct passive loudspeaker connection, please refer to the table below for possible loudspeaker deployments.

» DYNAMIC VOLUME CONTROL

The output volume of the paging adapter can be set via the web GUI or remotely adjusted on
SPON™ XC-9000 software. I'm sure you'll find this very handy especially when the device is installed at relatively inaccessible places.

In addition, you can also choose to connect an external mini microphone to the mic input (2-pin spring-cage terminal block) of the device, the connected mini mic can be used to monitor the background noise level, thus the output volume of the paging adapter can be automatically adjusted according to the monitored ambient noise level.

This unique feature is called "Ambient Noise Compensation" or "Dynamic Volume Control". In most cases, the paging adapter will be deployed close to the speakers, and there'll be many paging adapters located at different locations of the project site. As you know, even in the same project, the background noise levels at different locations might be different, and this feature enables the volume to be self-adapted to the background noise level at each paging adapter's location, thus realize continuous crystal clear voice intelligibility and ensure that announcements and alerts can always be heard but never too loud.

» UNIFIED COMMUNICATOIN COMPATIBILITY

This advanced paging adapter is compatible with standard SIP (RFC3261) protocol, it can be directly registered on mainstream 3rd party VoIP phone system for live paging announcement.

If you want to achieve more advanced functionalities of the paging adapter, such as pre-recorded voice announcements, scheduled or event-triggered voice announcements, real-time and timed background music, etc., you'll need to register the paging adapter on SPON™ XC-9000 software. But at the same time, if you already have an existing on-premise or hosed/cloud VoIP phone system and would like use your VoIP phone to make live paging announcements to the paging adapter, this won't be a problem, you can simply set up an interconnection between your existing VoIP phone system and SPON™ XC-9000 software via SIP trunking, enabling outbound phone calls from your existing VoIP phone to the paging adapter.

» LIVE AND PRE-RECORDED VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

You can easily make live voice announcements to the paging adapter from 3rd party VoIP phone,
SPON™ XC-9038 IP paging console, headset connected to the server PC (using the real-time capture & playback function of SPON™ XC-9000 software) or even your smartphone with SPON™ XC-APP mobile app.

As for pre-recorded voice announcements, you can either choose to upload the pre-recorded voice announcement MP3/WAV audio files on the media library of SPON™ XC-9000 software, or simply put the audio file in a USB flash drive and play the audio file on SPON™ XC-9038 IP paging console.

» SCHEDULED VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

With the help of SPON™ XC-9000 software, you'll be able to broadcast the right voice message at the right time.

This innovative paging adapter has the functionality of scheduled voice announcements, you can simply set up a scheduled voice announcement task on SPON™ XC-9000 software (please check the detailed setup procedures as below). After the setup of the scheduled task, the corresponding pre-recorded voice announcement will be played from the paging adapter to the connected passive speakers and legacy analog amplifier at the specified time.

Detailed Setup Procedures of Scheduled Voice Announcement Task:
① Creat a new scheme on SPON™ XC-9000 software and rename it as "Scheduled Voice Announcement".
② Creat a new task in the new scheme.
③ Set the trigger of the new task to be [Timer], set the period type to be [Daily]/[Weekly]/[Once], and set the start & end date as well as the execution time of the task.
④ Set the operation of the new task to be [PA], set the audio source type to be [File], choose the corresponding pre-recorded voice announcement MP3/WAV audio file in the media library, and choose the designated paging adapter as the target endpoint.

» REAL-TIME AND TIMED BACKGROUND MUSIC

After registering the paging adapter on SPON™ XC-9000 software, there're multiple different ways to initiate real-time background music to the paging adapter:
● Play music via connected audio source equipments (such as CD player, AM/FM radio tuner, cassette player, etc.) on your PC with real-time capture & playback function of SPON™ XC-9000 software.
● Play music via music streaming service (such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc.) on your PC with real-time capture & playback function of SPON™ XC-9000 software.
● Play the pre-uploaded music files in the media library of SPON™ XC-9000 software on your PC.
● Play the pre-stored music files in the connected USB flash drive on SPON™ XC-9038 IP paging console.

SPON™ XC-9000 software and rename it as "Timed Background Music".
② Creat a new task in the new scheme.
③ Set the trigger of the new task to be [Timer], set the period type to be [Daily]/[Weekly]/[Once], and set the start & end date as well as the execution time of the task.
④ Set the operation of the new task to be [PA], set the audio source type to be [File], and choose the corresponding background music MP3/WAV audio file in the media library,
and choose the designated paging adapter as the target endpoint.

» OFFLINE SCHEDULED BELL RINGING

In actual application, sometimes you might worry that all the preset tasks won't take effect when there's network interruption in your LAN, such concern makes sense since most of the network-attached features of the paging adapter is based on SPON™ XC-9000 software, and when the network is interrupted, the paging adapter will certainly be offline on the server software.

Well, here I'd like to introduce another great feature of the paging adapter that will definitely set you free from the worries of possible network interruption, and this unique feature is commonly referred to as "offline scheduled bell ringing".

In order to ensure that all the preset scheduled voice announcement/timed background music tasks on SPON™ XC-9000 software would still take effect on the paging adapter even when the network is interrupted, what you need to do is to export the preset task from the server software and upload the exported "scheduled bell ringing" file to the FTP server of the paging adapter. In that way, even when the network is interrupted, the "scheduled bell ringing" tasks uploaded on FTP will still be executed automatically at the specified time.

» FLEXIBLE ZONING OPTIONS

Another big time-saving feature of IP-based paging system is the ability to broadcast different voice announcements/background music to different zones separately.

Each paging adapter will be assigned with a unique IP address and a unique SIP account, meaning each paging adapter can be addressed individually or grouped into larger zones with other SPON™ IP endpoints. For project sites with multiple paging adapters, with the help of
SPON™ XC-9000 software, it's possible to divide the site into different paging zones and target your voice announcements/background music to specific audiences.

After the zoning setup on
SPON™ XC-9000 software, the full list of different zones will be displayed on the software platform, SPON™ XC-9038 IP paging console and SPON™ XC-APP mobile app, any specific zone can be chosen while making live/pre-recorded/scheduled/event-triggered voice announcements and real-time/timed background music broadcasting.

In addition, on the platform of
SPON™ XC-9000 software, you can easily change the zoning setup remotely, so the paging zones can be reconfigured in real time regardless of physical cabling, this feature would significantly eliminates the unnecessary hassles of going onsite.

» EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION ALERTING

For notification alerting of safety, security and emergency events, the activation can be realized by integrating 3rd party conventional/addressable fire alarm system into SPON™ IP paging system via the paging adapter's relay input.

You can easily wire any detection device (such as manual call point, heat/smoke/infrared detector or any other devices with contact closure relay) to the paging adapter's realy input (2-pin spring-cage terminal block/normally open dry contact) using 24 gauge shielded twisted pair. Custom MP3 audio file can be uploaded to the [Ringtone] folder on the FTP server of the paging adapter. As soon as the relay input is triggered by the detection device wired to it, the ringtone uploaded on FTP will be played automatically from the paging adapter to the connected passive speakers and legacy analog amplifier, making emergency notification alerting simpler and more efficient.

Besides, there's another option for emergency notification alerting. After wiring the detection device to the paging adapter's relay input, you can also choose to set up an event-triggered emergency notification task on
SPON™ XC-9000 software (please check the detailed setup procedures as below). After the setup of the event-triggered task, whenever the relay input is triggered by the detection device wired to it, the task will be activated automatically and corresponding pre-recorded warning/evacuation voice announcement will be played from the paging adapter to the connected passive speakers and legacy analog amplifier.

Detailed Setup Procedures of Event-Triggered Emergency Notification Task:
Creat a new scheme on
SPON™ XC-9000 software and rename it as "Event-Triggered Emergency Notification".
Creat a new task in the new scheme.
Set the trigger of the new task to be [Event], set the event type to be [Alarm], and choose the designated paging adapter as the event endpoint.
④ Set the operation of the new task to be [PA], set the audio source type to be [File], and choose the corresponding pre-recorded warning/evacuation voice announcement MP3/WAV audio file in the media library,
and choose the designated paging adapter as the target endpoint.
