Background
Humen Station is the first high-speed railway station in Dongguan and serves as the city’s only integrated transportation hub, connecting high-speed rail, intercity rail, and metro services. The new station building is an upgraded renovation aimed at enabling seamless transfers and realizing the advantages of a “three-track integration” hub. This upgrade supports the high-quality development of Dongguan City and contributes to the Greater Bay Area construction in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Introduction
The new Humen High-Speed Railway Station is now open and welcoming passengers. To enhance communication capabilities across the station, SPON Communications designed and deployed a fully integrated, stable, and reliable IP Array Public Address (PA) System. The system covers both north and south waiting halls, the ticketing hall, and corridor pathways, ensuring that every passenger experiences clear, real-time announcements.
SPON’s IP Matrix PA System is specially designed for large public venues such as high-speed railways, subways, and airports. It integrates public address and emergency broadcasting, with intelligent monitoring and control modules that ensure secure, reliable backup mechanisms. The system is expandable, providing ample interfaces for business broadcasting, fire emergency broadcasting, and automatic linked broadcasting, guaranteeing both operational flexibility and safety compliance.

Design
The SPON PA System delivers outstanding audio performance through high signal-to-noise ratio and high-fidelity digital amplifiers. Every broadcast announcement is clear, pleasant, and audible across the station. The system includes real-time monitoring of critical modules such as amplifiers, power supplies, and speaker circuits. Faults like low voltage, overloads, amplifier failures, or speaker circuit issues are immediately detected, enabling staff to quickly locate and resolve problems, minimizing disruptions.
Critical components are equipped with backup mechanisms to ensure continuous operation. The amplifier module uses a “4 main 1 backup” configuration, automatically activating backup units upon detecting a fault. This reduces broadcast failure rates to nearly zero, guaranteeing stable and uninterrupted announcements. Key hardware includes the XC-9508 IP Integrated Amplifier, supporting multiple audio inputs, offline broadcasts, and high-efficiency performance, and the XC-9607 IP Wall-Mount Speaker, featuring built-in network audio decoding, DSP, and simplified emergency alert functionality.
