Background

The Hangzhou Asian Games, held from September 23rd to October 8th, 2023, attracted global attention as one of the most important international sporting events in Asia. To ensure the smooth operation of the Games, the construction of the Asian Games Village, competition venues, and infrastructure reflected the concept of a “Smart Asian Games.”

As part of this initiative, an advanced IP PA Intercom System was required to improve information broadcasting, enhance safety, and provide efficient communication for athletes, staff, and spectators.

Design

Ningbo Xiangshan Asian Sailing Center

Serving as the official sailing venue, the intelligent street lighting system was integrated with SPON’s IP broadcast intercom system, enabling real-time event information dissemination. This helped both athletes and spectators stay informed while ensuring efficient venue management.

Ningbo Halfway Hill Beach Volleyball Center

Located within the Ningbo Halfway Mountain Tourist Resort, this 92.5-acre facility hosted the beach volleyball events. SPON’s IP Intelligent Broadcasting System with a network paging microphone was deployed to provide live commentary, announcements, and emergency broadcasting, enriching the spectator experience and ensuring timely communication.

Asian Games Village

As the largest non-competition venue, the Asian Games Village adopted SPON’s IP intercom terminals throughout the complex. These terminals provided one-button emergency calls, information consultation services, and an efficient communication platform for athletes, staff, and residents.
