FAQS

Q1: This unit has a touchscreen, but it's not a chairman unit. What information is displayed on the screen, and what functions can a delegate access from the screen?

This is a delegate unit with a built-in display, providing information and limited control to the individual participant. The screen displays:
Current Speaker: The name and seat number of the person currently speaking.
Waiting List: A list of other delegates who have requested to speak. This allows participants to see the speaking order.
Attendance/Voting Results: Real-time results of attendance checks and votes.
Own seat number
The delegate cannot initiate votes or approve/deny speaking requests from this unit (those are chairman functions). The screen is primarily for information display, giving the delegate situational awareness during the meeting. The touch screen may have the button for the delegate to request to speak.

Q2: Can delegates use the touchscreen to adjust their own microphone settings (like gain or EQ), or is that only controlled by the system administrator?

The individual microphone settings (gain, EQ, and AGC) are not adjustable directly from the delegate unit's touchscreen. These settings are controlled centrally through the main conference system controller. This is a deliberate design choice to:
Maintain System Consistency: Prevent individual delegates from accidentally making adjustments that could negatively impact the overall audio quality or create feedback.
Simplify the User Interface: Keep the delegate unit's interface simple and focused on essential information.
Centralized Control: Allow a technician or administrator to optimize the audio settings for the entire room and each individual microphone, ensuring the best possible sound for all participants and for any recordings or remote feeds.
