» ALL-IN-ONE SPEAKER

SPON™ XC-9610 is an all-in-one speaker with built-in network audio decoder, class-D digital amplifier and DSP (digital signal processor). Pre-configured digital signal processing produces crystal clear voice intelligibility all the time.

» EXCELLENT SOUND QUALITY

SPON™ XC-9610 supports wideband G.722 HD audio codec, thanks for that, there's high clarity and intelligibility of audio from the speaker for voice announcements, background music and emergency notification alerting.

» EASY CONFIGURATION

After connecting the horn speaker to the existing LAN/WAN network, you can easily manage and configure the speaker using its own user-friendly web interface accessible via the speaker's IP address, no need of tricky programming.

When you first log into the web GUI, after setting the IP address of the server (the PC on which SPON™ XC-9000 management software was installed), you can easily assign a static IP address to the speaker. Apart from the settings of network parameters, you can also use the web GUI to configure other parameters of the speaker such as multicast address, speaker volume, web interface login username & password, etc.

» DYNAMIC VOLUME CONTROL

Speaker volume can be configured via the web GUI or remotely adjusted by by SPON™ XC-9000 management software. In addition, there's also a built-in microphone inside of the speaker which can be used to monitor the background noise level, thus the speaker volume can be automatically adjusted according to the monitored ambient noise level.

This unique feature is called "Ambient Noise Compensation" or "Dynamic Volume Control". In most cases, there'll be many speakers located at different positions of the project site, and this feature enables the volume to be self-adapted to the background noise levels at each speaker location, thus realize continuous crystal clear voice intelligibility and ensure that announcements and alerts can always be heard but never too loud.

» UNIFIED COMMUNICATOIN COMPATIBILITY

SPON™ XC-9610 IP ceiling speaker is compatible with standard SIP (RFC3261) protocol, it can be directly registered on mainstream 3rd party VoIP telephone system for live paging announcement.

If you want to achieve more advanced functionalities of the speaker, such as pre-recorded voice announcements, scheduled or event-triggered voice announcements, real-time and timed background music, etc., you'll need to register the speaker on SPON™ XC-9000 management software. But at the same time, if you already have an existing on-premise or hosed/cloud VoIP telephone system and would like use your VoIP phone to make live paging announcements to the speaker, this won't be a problem, you can simply set up an interconnection between your existing VoIP telephone system and SPON™ XC-9000 management software via SIP trunking, enabling outbound phone calls from your existing VoIP phone to SPON™ XC-9610 IP ceiling speaker.

» LIVE AND PRE-RECORDED VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

You can easily make live voice announcements to the speaker from 3rd party VoIP telephone system, SPON™ IP paging console, headset connected to your PC/laptop (using the real-time capture & playback function of SPON™ XC-9000 management software) or even your smartphone (XC-APP Android & iOS Smartphone App).

As for making pre-recorded voice announcements, you can either choose to upload the pre-recorded voice announcement MP3/WAV audio files to the media library of SPON™ XC-9000 management software, or simply put the audio file in the USB flash drive and play the audio file on SPON™ IP paging console.

» SCHEDULED VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

With the help of SPON™ XC-9000 management software, you'll be able to broadcast the right voice message at the right time.

This innovative speaker has the functionality of scheduled voice announcements, you can simply set up a scheduled voice announcement task on SPON™ XC-9000 management software (please check the detailed setup procedures as below). After the setup of the task, the corresponding pre-recorded voice announcement will be played on the speaker at the specified time.

Detailed Setup Procedures of Scheduled Voice Announcement Task:
① Creat a new scheme on SPON™ XC-9000 management software and rename it as "Scheduled Voice Announcement".
② Creat a new task in the new scheme.
③ Set the trigger of the new task to be [Timer], set the period type to be [Daily]/[Weekly]/[Once], and set the start & end date as well as the execution time of the task.
④ Set the operation of the new task to be [PA], set the audio source type to be [File], choose the corresponding pre-recorded voice announcement MP3/WAV audio file in the media library, and choose the designated speaker as the target terminal.

» REAL-TIME AND TIMED BACKGROUND MUSIC

After registering the speaking on SPON™ XC-9000 management software, there're 5 different ways to initiate real-time background music to the speaker:
● Play music via music streaming service (such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc.) on your PC/laptop with real-time capture & playback function of SPON™ XC-9000 management software (the sound card of your PC/laptop must support stereophonic mixing).
● Play the pre-uploaded music files in the media library of SPON™ XC-9000 management software on your PC/laptop.
● Play the pre-stored music files in the USB flash drive on SPON™ IP paging console.
● Play music via music streaming service (such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc.) on your smartphone/tablet/MP3 player and connect your smartphone/tablet/MP3 player to the Aux Input (3.5mm TRS jack) of SPON™ IP paging console.
● Play the pre-uploaded music files in the media library of SPON™ XC-9000 management software via XC-APP Android & iOS Smartphone App on your smartphone.

As for timed background music, you can simply set up a timed background music task on SPON™ XC-9000 management software (please check the detailed setup procedures as below). After the setup of the task, the corresponding background music will be played on the speaker at the specified time.

» FLEXIBLE ZONING OPTIONS

Another big time-saving feature of IP-based paging system is the ability to broadcast different voice announcements/background music to different zones separately.

Each speaker will be assigned with a unique IP address and a unique ID, meaning each speaker can be addressed individually or grouped into larger zones with other speakers. For project sites with multiple speakers, with the help of SPON™ XC-9000 management software, it's possible to divide the site into different paging zones and target your announcements/background music to specific audiences.

After the zoning setup on SPON™ XC-9000 management software, the full list of different zones will be displayed on the software platform, SPON™ IP paging console and XC-APP Android & iOS smartphone app, any specific zone can be chosen while making live/pre-recorded/scheduled/event-triggered voice announcements and real-time/timed background music broadcasting.

In addition, on the platform of SPON™ XC-9000 management software, you can easily change the zoning setup remotely, so the paging zones can be reconfigured in real time, regardless of physical cabling, this feature would significantly eliminates the unnecessary hassles of going onsite.

» MULTICAST SCALABLE

On the scenario of making paging broadcasting to SPON™ XC-9610 IP ceiling speaker from 3rd party VoIP phone or SPON™ IP paging console, the speaker will auto-answer when being called for making PA voice announcements.

This speaker also supports multicast “send” or “receive”. As a result, a call can be made to one speaker for paging, which simultaneously launches a multicast session to any number of other SPON IP multicast speakers (such as XC-9607, XC-9610 or XC-9615), as well as multicast supported VoIP phones. These multicast configured receivers require no SIP registration.

» LOUD RINGING EXTENSION

The loud ringing extension on XC-9610 IP ceiling speaker is mainly used for auxiliary ringing of VoIP phone. Typically the speaker will be configured in the same ringing group with another VoIP phone on SPON™ XC-9000 management software, and whenever this phone is being called, a ringtone file saved in the FTP server of the speaker will be played for the duration of the ringing event until the phone is finally answered.

There’s already a default ringtone available in the FTP server of the speaker, and of course, custom ringtone (file format: .wav / bit rate: 128kbps / file size: not limited) can also be uploaded on FTP server to replace the default ringtone.

» EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION ALERTING

For notification alerting of safety, security and emergency events, the activation can be realized by integrating 3rd party conventional/addressable fire alarm system into SPON™ IP PA system.

What you need to do is to wire any detection device (such as manual call point, heat/smoke/infrared detector or any other devices with contact closure relay) to the realy input (2-pin pluggable terminal block/normally open dry contact) of SPON™ NAC-5003 fire alarm interface module using 24 gauge shielded twisted pair, connect the module to the existing LAN/WAN network, and log it on SPON™ XC-9000 management software.

You can easily set up an event-triggered emergency notification task on SPON™ XC-9000 management software (please check the detailed setup procedures as below). After the setup of the task, whenever the relay input is triggered by the detection device wired to it, the task will be activated automatically and corresponding pre-recorded warning/evacuation voice announcement will be played on the speaker.

Detailed Setup Procedures of Event-Triggered Emergency Notification Task:
① Creat a new scheme on SPON™ XC-9000 management software and rename it as "Event-Triggered Emergency Notification".
② Creat a new task in the new scheme.
③ Set the trigger of the new task to be [Event], set the event type to be [Alarm], and choose the designated relay input on NAC-5003 fire alarm interface module as the event terminal.
④ Set the operation of the new task to be [PA], set the audio source type to be [File], choose the corresponding pre-recorded warning/evacuation voice announcement MP3/WAV audio file in the media library, and choose the designated speaker as the target terminal.

» Can I use this horn speaker for my VoIP telephone system? Or make a direct voice announcement from my VoIP phone?

Yes, based on open standards, XC-9610 IP ceiling speaker plugs right into standard IP networks and can be easily integrated with your SIP-based unified communication system via standard SIP protocol. Different sound sources can be SIP direct call or SIP multicast.

» What should I do if the speaker cannot be logged into the management software?

1. Check if the management software and the server PC are operating normally (before starting the management software, please make sure that all the firewalls, including the built-in firewall in the OS and other anti-virus software's firewall, are disabled).
2. Check if the network connection of the speaker is functioning normally.
3. Check if the network configurations (including device ID, local IP address, subnet mask, server IP address, etc.) of the speaker on the web GUI are set correctly.

» What is multicast?

IP multicast is a technique for one-to-many communication over a local IP network. IGMP multicast is sent via UDP packets from a multicast sender to a multicast receiver. This stream scales to a larger receiver population by not requiring prior knowledge of who or how many receivers there are. Multicast uses network infrastructure efficiently by requiring the source to send a packet only once, even if it needs to be delivered to many receivers. The network replicates the packet in order to reach multiple receivers only when necessary.

Multicast is a great alternative to SIP registration as it does not require that the recipient of the stream to register as an extension on an IP-PBX server.
